Intelligent Capital was formed in 2002 when Forbes Steedman Ltd merged with Medical Life to formalise a long standing relationship, combining the strong corporate client bias of one firm along with the private client expertise of the other.

 

Since then the company has enjoyed organic growth and in early 2007 formed Intelligent Benefits Ltd staffed by senior directors and technicians previously with a national firm of Consulting Actuaries, to serve the corporate pensions market. Specialising in Employee Benefits and 'Managing Down' final salary pension scheme liabilities, Intelligent Benefits is a fast growing business with many SME clients throughout Scotland and the UK.

 

The Group continues to grow and in March 2008 the group acquired the Private Client business of WN Gordon and partners.

 

After over a year as Non Executive Director, Graeme Manson was appointed as Group Chairman in April 2008. Graeme is perhaps best known as a founding partner of accounting firm Rutherford Manson & Dowds and latterly as a partner at Delloitte.

 

Natalie Stafford also joined the board as Finance Director after 5 years as the company's accountant.
